You can easily trim a video asset by the second or millisecond using our trimming tool.

Start by entering Scene View by double-clicking on the scene containing the video asset you'd like to edit.

If you have multiple assets within the scene, locate the video asset you'd like to trim with the arrows on either side of the scene. Then, click the 'Trim' icon in the media editing toolbar above the scene.

Note: If you don't see the media editing toolbar, click again on the video asset in the scene or on the 'Media' tab in the navigation bar.

Once you've opened the trimming tool, you'll be able to adjust the length of the clip and drag it to find the exact moment you want to capture in your video. Click 'Apply' to save your changes.

You can also trim your video clips using our keyboard shortcuts. This list can be accessed within the trimming tool, located below the play button.

Tips

  • You can also trim a scene by using the Scene Duration buttons.

  • Need to crop your asset, too? Click on the 'Crop' button at the top of the trimming tool to quickly switch between tools!

  • If you want to use the same media asset in consecutive scenes, trim your media asset as usual in your first scene and then duplicate the scene. Learn more about this feature by reading "Displaying multiple text captions on a media asset".
